Good morning to you! I hope you are having a great day no matter what time you are reading this. Business has been very busy lately and I have you to thank for that! In our last blog I talked about how we were leaving Riley with a friend for a long weekend while we were on a trip. Well it turned out that Riley was a very good boy while we were gone. The temperature in Pennsylvania was in the below zero so they spent time inside playing with Rye’s toys and staying warm. Riley did manage to break out of his crate while Kyle was gone for just a few hours. What a crazy boy! Here is a picture of the Riley-sized hole he created in his soft crate.
Do you see the white thread on the left side of his door? That is where we patched a hole many years ago after Riley scratched through it the first time. Being able to sew when you own a dog sure comes in handy!
Recently my older brother, Pat, told me that he is getting a new dog. I am so excited for him! I secretly pride myself in knowing many breeds of dogs, however, the kind he is getting is one I’ve never heard of! He is getting a Dogo Argentino/ American Bulldog mix. After thinking about Pat having to train and teach his first puppy, it made me think about my experience training Riley and taking him to class and all that I learned along the way. I am no expert by any means, but I want to share some things that I think you should consider before getting a puppy.
You know you’re a true dog-lover when you find yourself scrolling through social media in search for cute dog pictures and videos. I don't know about you, but watching dog videos is a stress reliever, time passer, and source of little happy moments throughout my day. It is really my main reason for using Facebook at all. (Besides keeping up with you guys, of course.) I just love watching compilations of guilty dogs or huge dogs that think they are lap dogs. Paul would say that my dog scrolling is a "problem" I have, but I just say, “Look at this dog blowing bubbles!” or “How can you not watch this dog licking a glass door for 5 minutes?!" I'll show you some good ones if you keep reading.
